The Redlands California Temple
The Redlands California temple features a storied art-glass panel behind the reception desk in the entry. The panel, which beautifully depicts Joseph Smith's First Vision, was originally part of an early Latter-day Saint chapel built in San Bernardino in 1930. That chapel was sold to a Protestant group in the mid-1970s, with the window still in place. In 1978, the window was secured by members of the Church, restored, and used in another Latter-day Saint chapel in San Bernardino. When Greg Hill, interior designer for the Redlands Temple, learned of the antique window, he selected it as the anchor art piece in the lobby.
